Wow, how much sense does this concept make?! Becoming part of the world around us in death in such a beautiful and sensitive way. Although, I have to raise the fact that 'the forest' is not an instant place that is created. A forest takes many years to grow and develop. The idyllic idea of having a forest to visit after the death of a loved one would only be realized in the years ahead, but still better than visiting a cold and depressing cemetery space. To be part of a forest in death is a beautiful concept; contributing to the cycle of life in such a positive way makes so much sense!

‘Language is a skin; I rub my language against the other. It is as if I had words instead of fingers, or fingers at the tip of my words. My language trembles with desire.’ Barthes
I just love the physicality of this quote. Words can be extremely powerful things. They can almost be as powerful as the physical sensation of touch. Or can they? Carefully written and crafted work can be illuminating and transport the reader to another place and time. It can contribute to helping see things in a different way; seeing things from another persons point of view. Words are playing an emotional tug and war with me at the moment. In different contexts they can only be words. Words are sometimes not enough. |
