‘Language is a skin; I rub my language against the other. It is as if I had words instead of fingers, or fingers at the tip of my words. My language trembles with desire.’ Barthes
I just love the physicality of this quote. Words can be extremely powerful things. They can almost be as powerful as the physical sensation of touch. Or can they? Carefully written and crafted work can be illuminating and transport the reader to another place and time. It can contribute to helping see things in a different way; seeing things from another persons point of view. Words are playing an emotional tug and war with me at the moment. In different contexts they can only be words. Words are sometimes not enough.
